All of my designs are carefully handcrafted by me using materials sourced from around the world, including semi-precious gemstones, Swarovski crystal beads, sterling silver components and freshwater pearls. My aim is to create jewellery that is easy to wear and versatile, i.e. suitable for all occasions. Whether the occasion is a fancy party or a simple meal with friends. Many of my designs are limited to just a few pieces so you are not likely to see anyone else wearing the same design. Charmchic.com also acts as a retailer for other leading brands including Designo and Ferroni by designer Alan K.
High Street Vs. Boutique
I have often heard people say that they could get similar jewellery at much lower prices in popular high street stores or supermarkets. Whilst the jewellery may look similar at a fleeting glance, look closer and you’ll notice clear differences. The quality of the beads used in our handmade jewellery are much higher, whilst low cost jewellery in high street stores often use plastic beads and imitation crystal beads. We only use high quality Swarovski crystal beads, which are considered the finest in the world.
A lot of our handmade jewellery incorporate wire wrapped links. Wire wrapped links are often a clear sign that the jewellery has been made by hand and not by a machine. I have never seen jewellery with wire wrapped links in high street stores, only the more common loop links (see below), which can be made by machine.
Quality is not the only issue in the high street vs. boutique jewellery debate. You could wear low cost high street jewellery for years, but because the designs are so closely linked to what is fashionable at that particular moment, something you buy today may not be fashionable next year or even next season. At charmchic.com, we aim to produce timeless high quality handmade jewellery that you will want to wear year after year.
Another point is that high street jewellery is mass manufactured in the thousands. Whereas, charmchic.com jewellery is manufactured in very low quantities making it much more exclusive.
